Donna Karan was born in 1948 in United States of America .Karans father is a tailor and her father is a model.She started her career at the age of 14 as selling clothes on Cedarhurst ,NY’s Central Avenue. After her graduation from Hewlett High School she joined Parsons School of Design and after completing her College in two years she left to work.
She worked for Annie Klein design team and started her career as assistant designer, after becoming the head of this design team she remained there till 1985 . That was the time launched the eponymous Donna Karan label. Then she left the job and decided to start her own business with the help of her husband to design modern clothes for the modern people. Within a short time Donna karan was nichnamed as ” The Queen of Seventh Avenue “ sooner she extended her business in New York as “Donna Karan New York” shortly DKNY .
After reaching the peak of the market she decided to extend her designs in other fashion wearing like shoes, watches, perfumes, glasses etc., Karan later entered into charity building and she is the founder of many charities like The Urban Zen Initiative . Karan organized a large sale of her vintage company samples and personal belongings at her late husband’s studio On March 14 and 15 2008, to benefit the cause.
